"The Messenger"

Thank you Susan

And He said to the man, “Go and deliver a message.”

Another time He said, “Go and deliver a message.”

Again He said, “Go and deliver a message.”

Once more He sent him, saying, “Go and deliver a message.”

Respectfully, the man asked, “To what end?”

And He replied, “I will send my messenger, who will prepare the way before me."

So the man appeared in the wilderness and began to help cultivate the land, making straight paths (in the hearts of “His” people).

"7 Woes; True or False"

Thank you Chris

With love, I say woe. In sorrow I say woe...

To you, who believe, yet live to do your own will—woe!

To you, who believe, yet think only of this life—woe!

To you, who find comfort in doing good deeds, believing this will save you—woe!

To you, who love your life, to the point of withholding it—woe!

To you, who love to learn, but do not practice what you teach—woe!

To you, who claim to love, yet prefer the offerings of society—woe!

To you, who lead, yet seek only your own interests—woe!

Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; so with love, I say woe. With hope, I say woe...

—“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2 NIV)

(Isaiah 30:1) (Matthew 7:21) (Matthew 16:24) (Mark 3:35) (Luke 14:26) (Luke 14:33) (John 4:34) (John 7:17) (John 12:24) (John 15:5) (1 John 2:15) (2 Corinthians 5:15) (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"Exodus"

Thank you Aitziber

"I want to walk with you."

That's what she said to me.

As I follow You, she follows me. Step by step, there is unity.

"I want to walk with you."

That's what she said to me.

May Your will be done, through us, as it is in heaven.

"I want to walk with you."

That's what she said to me.

Lord, help me to love, as You loved me.

"I want to walk with you."

That's what she said to me.

And in this, we will live for eternity.

"Childlike (Hindsight pt. 2)"

What can I say to you?

I see your hard work. I see your determination, your “never quit” attitude. And does this make me proud?

What can I say to you?

On the one hand, I am glad, but on the other—I am not.

What can I say to you?

In the same breath, I see your “self-confidence,” your “self-effort,“ your "self-will." And you are exhausted.

What can I say to you?

Come and share in my joy! For I have a way that is more efficient...

So this is what I say to you...

“Come to me, all of you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke on you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to carry and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 LEB)

Yes, the actual work that needs to be done is of the Spirit, not of the flesh; by love, not of self.

So like the blind beggar, I "pray" you realize your utter dependence, and in this helplessness learn to depend on the One above. And in this hopeful trust, you will find rest.

"A Prophetic Heart"

Thank you Espinas3

And He said to me:

“I ask, who is following me? Who looks after the poor? Who has their eye on the oppressed? Who is my representative?

Who will this be? Is there one who understands?”

And in human reasoning, I know many who would argue—I am that one!

I see many who want to make "change" in the name of "love," but they do not follow You; many who want to make "change," but not in Your name.

And my heart is grieved. Though things appear to change, the "disguise" only becomes more clever. What is the point in changing laws if the heart remains the same?

Surely, unless You show up, no lasting change is made.

Truly, “Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain."

And I am no different.

This "house," that You are building, the walls of my heart You are constructing, must be filled with something greater. So daily I plead—"Come in, come in. Please, come in."

In childlike humility and faith I do see, “Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain."

“Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain."

"A Foreigner’s Voyage"

Thank you Milan

“Step by step, ‘day by day,’ this is the way; walk in it.”

A mantra given to me by my Guide as we walk through the valley of this foreign land.

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’”

This is the gift of grace—peace of mind and heart.

“Step by step, ‘day by day,’ this is the way; walk in it.”

"Tainted"

Thank you Greigels

My sister, I see your pain. I feel your anguish.

Striving for riches. Pursuing “prosperity.” Craving “worldly success.” Nipping at the dangling morsel placed on a string. Running, but never quite reaching. Are you not yet tired, do you not need rest?

I love you, so I say—this is not our purpose. This is not the way for those who believe. Chasing natural prosperity is a pretty packaged lie that has worked its way into the faith, choking many whose hearts cry out for truth; perverting the path to the One who is so precious, to the One who wants to “dwell within.” For that is the true goal…to only abide in Him, as He “lives in you.”

My sister, I see your pain. I feel your anguish.

I love you, so I say—this is not our purpose. This is not the way for those who believe.
